Brandon draws a parallel between the esoteric Jewish community at Qumran whose books were hidden before the community was destroyed by the Romans in A.D. 68. Those documents are now known as the Dead Sea Scrolls, and the community which authored them is known almost solely through them. Recently those very scrolls have been made available to scholars at large, stirring great hopes for break throughs in our understanding of Judaism at the time of Christ and thus, early Christian development. Brandon proposes that the Christian community in Jerusalem, which strongly maintained its ties to Judaism, was also wiped out by the Romans in A.D. 70, and its documents lost, as a repercussion of the Jewish uprising there. The annihilation of the Mother Church of Jerusalem meant that the original leaders of Jewish-Christianity were killed or dispersed. Also, there must have been a strong political force encouraging the moving away from Judaism and any traditions which identified a community as being tied to Judaism. These factors would have greatly aided in the strengthening and spread of non-Jewish concepts among early Christians. They would have especially helped the spread of the concept of Jesus’ deification.

God does not change His mind. God does not call Himself the ONLY SAVIOR then decide to change that and call Jesus the Savior. This term describing Jesus as the Savior was used only twice in the New Testament. This is noted in Luke.2:11 and in John. 4:42. Besides these two occurrences, the only other occurrence in the Gospels clearly refers to God, not Jesus: Then Mary said: “My being proclaims the greatness of the Lord. My spirit finds joy in God, MY SAVIOR, For He has looked upon his servant in her lowliness...” (Luke 1:46-48) We cannot ignore the reminder in Isaiah 46:9 where God speaks of Himself: “I am God, there is no other; I am God, there is none like me.” (in other words La Elaha Ella Allah – There is no god except GOD). In the Final Testament, the Quran, God clearly calls Himself the Redeemer and no savior besides Him. A few verses are listed below. As for those who repent, reform, and proclaim, I redeem them. I am the Redeemer, Most Merciful. (2:160)

Common Christian thought October 05, 2018 Common Christian thought is that the only way to heaven is through Jesus, whether through intercession in prayer or devotion in worship as part of the trinity. The notion that Jesus Christ is the Savior and the way contradicts every known divine scripture including the Old Testament, the New Testament and the Final Testament (Quran). Any sincere student of the scripture will find out that the ONE and ONLY Savior and Redeemer is the One GOD, the Almighty, the God of Abraham, Moses, Jesus and Muhammed. We see in the New Testament that the idea of every one being responsible for his deeds was expressed in Galatians 6:4-7: “Each man should look to his conduct; if he has reason to boast of anything, it will be because the achievement is his and not another’s. A man will REAP ONLY what he SOWS.”

This gives rise to incredible confusion, for the simple reason that the precedents hopelessly contradict one another and frequently contradict the document itself. The problem with many bad Constitutional Law courses is that they are all about the precedents, and not at all about the Constitution. December 11, 2018 The Problem with Precedent A fourth technique of constitutional interpretation is to look at precedent. This gives rise to incredible confusion, for the simple reason that the precedents hopelessly contradict one another and frequently contradict the document itself. The problem with many bad Constitutional Law courses is that they are all about the precedents, and not at all about the Constitution. The short answer to the problem of precedent is that some precedents are sound—helpful interpretations of the Constitution that can help resolve doubtful points—and other precedents are unsound, unhelpful misinterpretations of the Constitution’s text, structure, and history. That’s really all there is to it. The sound precedents are useful guides; the unsound ones should be regarded as having no authority or validity whatsoever. Indeed, and ironically, there is one notable, sound precedent that clearly refutes any argument for deliberately following unsound precedent: the famous foundational case of Marbury v. Madison (1803). Marbury is one of the very first cases most students learn in constitutional law class. It holds—correctly, on textual and structural grounds—that if an act of Congress violates the Constitution, courts must follow the Constitution and not the faithless act of Congress. In colloquial terms, the Court must “strike down” unconstitutional acts of Congress. What often goes unnoticed, however, is that exactly the same reasoning applies to judicial decisions that conflict with the Constitution. If the Constitution says one thing and judicial precedent says another, a subsequent court, by the reasoning of Marbury, must follow the Constitution and not the erroneous judicial precedent. The much-beloved common-law doctrine of stare decisis—the policy of following prior decisions of earlier courts—makes no sense when applied to a written constitution intended to serve as supreme law. The Constitution is supreme, not the judicial decisions misinterpreting it. Besides, the doctrine of stare decisis has never been thought absolute, and never been thought required by the Constitution. So the choice of when to follow precedent and when not becomes wildly unpredictable and seemingly arbitrary. A delicious further irony is that the Supreme Court’s current doctrine of stare decisis appears not to require adherence to the Supreme Court’s current doctrine of stare decisis. So I say unto you law students (and citizens): Consider precedent for what it may be worth in a particular instance as a guide to interpretation, but disavow entirely the judicial doctrine of stare decisis—the utterly indefensible practice of (sometimes!) following precedents that you are otherwise convinced are simply wrong. Truly I say unto you: If the Constitution says one thing and the judicial precedents say something else entirely, you must go with the Constitution every time. We’re almost done with my short mini-review / explosion of “Constitutional Law.” You now know most of the legitimate—and one of the illegitimate—techniques of constitutional interpretation, and how to apply them to cut through the muck of the Con Law course. Tomorrow, we’ll finish the lesson with a couple more key points: the (obvious) illegitimacy of purely policy-driven, result-oriented “interpretation,” and an important principle concerning what to do when a provision of the Constitution is vague, ambiguous, or simply admits of a range of legitimate interpretations or applications.
