Image
The Ukrainian leader said he wants dialogue and rejects “ultimatums” Zelensky ready for ‘compromises’ on Donbass and Crimea Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has said that he is ready for talks on certain “compromises” regarding the breakaway republics in Donetsk and Lugansk, as well as Crimea. He made the statement during the second week of Russia’s military campaign against his country. David Muir asked Zelensky on ABC News on Monday if he was willing to concede to Moscow’s demand of recognizing Crimea as part of Russia, and the two breakaway republics of the Donbass as independent states. “I’m ready for dialogue. We’re not ready for a capitulation,” Zelensky said. The Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics (DPR and LPR) seceded from Ukraine shortly after the 2014 coup in Kiev. Crimea voted to leave Ukraine and join Russia the same year. Zelensky called both states “pseudo-republics” and repeated Kiev’s long-held position of referring to the DPR and LPR as ‘temporarily occupied ...

Germany depends on Russian energy, and will not follow US and UK in banning imports, top diplomat says Banning Russian oil imports would grind Germany to a halt, minister warns Oil tanks stand on the Rhine-Herne Canal in Gelsenkirchen, Germany, March 2, 2022 © Getty Images / Federico Gambarini German Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock said on Tuesday that her country would “not be able to move” without Russian oil imports. While the UK and US announced they would cease buying Moscow’s oil, Germany is too reliant to quit. "A third of our oil imports come from Russia," Baerbock told the video channel of the newspaper Bild. “If we stopped these straight away, then tomorrow we would not be able to move in Germany anymore.” “We are trying to do everything we can to stop this war,” Baerbock continued, referring to the ongoing conflict between Ukraine and Russia, before claiming that Russian President Vladimir Putin is currently “unstoppable.” Baerbock is a member of the Green Party...

World Blog by humble servant. The double edge sword 1. Marshall He rmann Wilhelm Göring (1893–1946) when questioned during the Nuremberg trial had this to say: “Why, of course, the people don’t want war. Why would some poor slob on a farm want to risk his life in a war when the best that he can get out of it is to come back to his farm in one piece. Naturally, the common people don’t want war; neither in Russia nor in England nor in America, nor for that matter in Germany. That is understood. But, after all, it is the leaders of the country who determine the policy and it is always a simple matter to drag the people along, whether it is a democracy or a fascist dictatorship or a Parliament or a Communist dictatorship. With respect to a Democracy they argued, the people have some say in the matter through their elected representatives, and in the United States, only Congress can declare wars. Göring replied: “Oh, that is all well and good, but, voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is tell them they are being attacked and denounce the pacifists for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger. It works the same way in any country.

UK citizens will feel economic pain of Russia sanctions – Truss Liz Truss cautioned that the measures were necessary, as there is “no limit” to President Vladimir Putin’s ambitions UK citizens will feel economic pain of Russia sanctions – Truss UK Foreign Secretary Liz Truss warned on Tuesday that the British people will suffer “economic costs” of sanctions against Russia, as electricity bills and the cost of living increase due to the West’s response to the conflict in Ukraine. “Of course, there will be an economic cost for British people from these sanctions, in terms of their energy bills and their cost of living, but that cost is nothing compared to the cost to the people of Ukraine of this horrific barbarism they’re facing,” Truss told the UK parliament. Despite the impact on Britain, Truss defended the UK’s response, claiming that it was necessary as there is “no limit” to Russian President Vladimir Putin’s “ambitions” if he does not fail in Ukraine. The UK has, so far, introduce...

World Blog by humble servant. Guest Columnist Martin Armstrong the forecaster. On June 27th 1998 Armstrong was quoted in the Financial Times,[5] predicting that the Russian financial troubles would prove to be more damaging to Europe than the 1997 Asian financial crisis. Other commentators in the same article argued that only countries with strong ties to Russia - e.g. Germany and smaller eastern European countries - would be severely affected. Marty turn out to be RIGHT.

Marty who will they blame for rising gas prices? Marty do you think they will just cancel crypto? Biden is now proposing to ban all Russian Energy sales to the West. Prices will rise sharply still and Biden is blaming Putin claiming this is the “price of freedom” for Ukraine which is all BS so governments can avoid responsibility for the collapse in the supply chain thanks to COVID and their shutting down fossil fuel and climate change.   I warned in the private blog that cryptocurrencies may end up being suspended. The excuse will be Russia and the news is out now that  Biden will sign  an Executive Order to regulate cryptos because Russia can use it to circumvent sanctions. Not only is Biden authorizing the regulation of digital currencies, but he is also instructing to move forward with a central bank cryptocurrency. Once that is done, all other cryptocurrencies will be seized and folded into the government’s crypto. There will be no competition. Money histo...

China’s foreign ministry has called on the US to disclose information on the Pentagon’s alleged biological laboratories in Ukraine “as soon as possible”. On Monday, the Russian military said Ukrainian authorities had been destroying pathogens studied at its laboratories. Moscow claimed that 30 US-financed Ukrainian biolabs have been actively cooperating with the American military. Kiev has denied developing bioweapons. According to the website of the US embassy in Kiev, the US Department of Defense’s Biological Threat Reduction Program only “collaborates with partner countries to counter the threat of outbreaks” of infectious diseases. In 2020, the embassy called such theories about US-funded biolabs in Ukraine "disinformation." Speaking at a press briefing on Tuesday, however, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Zhao Lijian claimed that, according to his country’s information, the laboratories in Ukraine are just “a tip of an iceberg” and that the US Department of Defense “co...
