World Blog by humble servant.Whom should we trust, Bukhari or God Almighty?

In God the believers should trust. That is what God says throughout the Quran. Nobody who calls him or herself a Muslim will doubt this fact. Muslims will actually become offended with even the slight suggestion that they should trust Bukhari instead of God. Of course they trust God, they would say. There should be no question about that. However, that is not exactly what the majority of Muslims are doing today. They are putting their trust not in the Almighty God, but in the hands and mind of Bukhari who compiled volumes and volumes of hadiths (sayings) attributed to Prophet Muhammad some 200 years after the prophet’s death, without any authority from God and the prophet. Why hadith? The proponents of hadith argue that the Quran does not cover all the details one may need to live an Islamic way of life. They also contend that the Quran is difficult to understand, and therefore one needs to refer to hadiths for explanation or clarification. Nothing can be further from the truth. It is ...

NO SALVATION WITHOUT OBEYING THE MESSENGER "Say (O Muhammad), 'If you love God, then follow me. God will then love you, and forgive your sins; God is forgiver, merciful.' Say, 'Obey God and the messenger.' If they turn away, then God loves not the disbelievers." (3:31-32) "You shall observe Salat & Zakat, and obey the messenger, that you may attain mercy." (24:56) "Anyone who disobeys God and His messenger will abide in the fire of hell forever." (72:23) Since all the messengers delivered one and the same message, namely, "YOU SHALL NOT WORSHIP EXCEPT GOD," disobeying them constitutes disbelief, or idol-worship. WHEN DELIVERING GOD'S MESSAGES, messengers do not speak on their own initiative. "A prophet like me, will the Lord, your God, raise up for you from among your own kinsmen; to him you shall listen." (Moses in Deuteronomy 18:15) "I will raise up for them a prophet like you from among their kinsmen, and...

World Blog by humble servant. When people quote human examples to justify Intercession through God’s servants

When people quote human examples to justify Intercession through God’s servants Question: If you say God teaches us by using examples from our lives, then intercession through God’s servants is definitely justified. We ask them for help because we believe they have better access and are closer to Him. It’s like if we want the President’s approval on something, we have to make a representation through his departments. If we want a private audience, we have to seek an appointment through his secretary. Answer: In Quran God gives us allegorical and real life examples to learn from, but we have to apply them in the correct context, not misconstrue them to justify our preferences. The example you are using has no basis in Quran. It is not even righteous to compare direct access to God with access to people no matter how much worldly power they may have. With no disrespect to any hierarchy system, people have to work through each other because they have limitations. God does not have any lim...

As Salamu Alaykum I am an American Muslim woman. My husband is Palestinian.  I accepted Islam 2 years before I met my husband and now we live in Emirates.  I studied Islam in the U.S. and therefore have a more objective and pure view of my religion, free from all the traditional and cultural aspects that have been incorporated over time.  I do not believe I am required to cover my hair.  I am a modest woman. I dress modest and carry myself in a modest behavior.  I cover my body and I believe that is what “hijab” means.  I don’t believe, contrary to most Muslims, that covering my hair solely defines me as a Muslim woman.  I often get lectured by my husband’s family about not wearing “hijab,” and these are people who I know first hand are not as diligent in their faith as I am.  It seems to be more about appearance to them and social acceptance than having anything to do with faith.  How do I explain to them how I feel about hijab without causi...
