World Blog by humble servant. There’s a book in the Bible entitled “Tobit.” It’s not in every Bible, but it’s in most Catholic Bibles, so it’s in the New American Bible, which is an excellent translation. Within the book, there’s a section where the man Tobit is instructing his son, Tobiah. It reminds me very much of Luqman (Chapter 31) in the Quran. His advice is very sound.

The Book of Tobit There’s a book in the Bible entitled “Tobit.” It’s not in every Bible, but it’s in most Catholic Bibles, so it’s in the New American Bible, which is an excellent translation. Within the book, there’s a section where the man Tobit is instructing his son, Tobiah. It reminds me very much of Luqman (Chapter 31) in the Quran. His advice is very sound. Tobit 4:3-19: My son, when I die…honor your mother and do not abandon her as long as she lives. Do whatever pleases her, and do not grieve her in any way. Remember, my son, that she went through many trials for your sake while you were in her womb…. Through all your days, my son, keep the Lord in mind, and suppress every desire to sin or to break his commandments. Perform good works all the days of your life, and do not tread the paths of wrongdoing. For if you are steadfast in your service, your good works will bring success…. Give alms from your possessions.  Do not turn your face away from any of the poor, and God’s fa...

World Blog by humble servant. The Guidebook And most assuredly, it (the Quran) is a guide and mercy for the believers [27:77]

The Guidebook And most assuredly, it (the Quran) is a guide and mercy for the believers [27:77] No sane person would ever put to use a highly technical type of machinery without consulting the guidebook or instruction manual supplied by its maker or manufacturer. But we have totally bypassed this essential practice in our own case and have completely ignored the GUIDEBOOK coming from the One and Only Creator to guide all human beings. The divinely selected and guided messengers, right from the first one to the last, presented one and the same universal code to unite the entire mankind into one nation and brotherhood. It is our ignorance that has made us label ourselves as Buddhist, Christian, Hindu, Jew, Parsi, Shia, Sikh and Sunni etc. And we proceed further; every sect is getting divided into numerous sub-sects! All these man-made sects have created their sectarian literature in derogation to the book of God. Such sectarian literature is followed by one sect and completely or partial...

World Blog by humble servant.Misconceptions of Jesus as Savior.PART 1: Proving Jesus is NOT God.PART 2: Proving Jesus is NOT the Savior.Part 3 The Third Jesus..

Misconceptions of Jesus as Savior In God we trust and God willing this article shall help many to find the truth for those honest to seek it. "Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you." (Jesus in Matthew 7:7 ) PART 1: Proving Jesus is NOT God How do we show that Jesus is not the Savior? First we show that he is not God. Consider the following verses in the Bible... God - Omnipotent ( All Powerful ) Matthew 19:26  Jesus looked at them and said, "With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible." Revelation 19:6  And I heard, as it were, the voice of a great multitude, as the sound of many waters and as the sound of mighty thunderings, saying, “Alleluia! For the Lord God Omnipotent reigns!" Jesus - NOT Omnipotent John 5:19  Then Jesus answered and said to them, “Most assuredly, I say to you, the son can do nothing of himself, but what he sees the Father do; for whatever He does, the son als...

World Blog by humble servant.Quran and the 12 Steps

Image
Quran and the 12 Steps There is no compromise whatsoever regarding illicit drugs and alcoholic beverages; they are called “abominations and the work of Satan” (5:90). In 2:219-2x9=18+2=20-1=19  and 5:90, we see that “intoxicants, gambling, the idols’ altars, and games of chance” are strictly prohibited. The word used for intoxicants is Khamr, from the root word “Khamara” which means “to cover.” Thus, anything that covers or hinders the mind is prohibited. This includes anything that alters the mind, such as marijuana, heroin, cocaine, alcohol, hashish, and anything else that affects the mind.     Several groups like Alcoholics Anonymous and Gamblers Anonymous are designed to aid those who are caught in addictions to find their way out of them by working through a set of 12 steps whose ultimate goal is to allow someone to turn their will and life over to the care of God as they understand Him. Actually, looking at the human condition from a Quranic perspective ar...

World Blog by humble servant. You know when I speak about abortion or homosexuality. Those that partake in these react strongly to them by generating hatred toward the message.

You know when I speak about abortion or homosexuality. Those that partake in these behavior react strongly to them by generating hatred toward the message. I preach what i'm instructed and point to both ways to heaven and hell. God is the forgiver of sins. Repentance is accepted by God. And stoppage of the behavior now that you know some aren't aware because sinning has been made fair seeming. A preacher is to tell you the truth and forbid evil which is instructed by God. And direct you to the path of the most praise. Never advocating sin. Johnnie Ellington II This is why a man of God don't ask for money. He is no one advocate.EXCEPT GOD and God laws. Johnnie Ellington II Because he may have to tell you about what you are doing. Reply Johnnie Ellington II                                                                  ...

World Blog by humble servant. How to interact in non-violent debates.

Image
How to interact in non-violent debates The Quran describes behavioral patterns of disbelievers and provides guidance for interacting with them according to the degree of opposition they exhibit. We learn that we are to respect all peace treaties with them (9:4, 8:72, 4:90), and that we may even befriend those who don’t attack us nor try to evict us from our homes (60:8-9). In the extreme, we can fight back and defend ourselves if they become violent against us (2:191). This reminder is about Quranic guidance to behave righteously in the non-violent kinds of debates that take place between submitters and those who reject Quranic truth. It is not intended to cover violent or aggressive situations, nor is it about situations of mutual peace offerings. Knowing certain facts about disbelievers helps us practice certain qualities, such as patience. God has already informed us that disbelievers: • Reject Quran. [84:21] And when the Quran is recited to them, they do not fall prostrate. [84:22]...

World Blog by humble servant. Alhamdulillah (Praise be to God)

Image
Alhamdulillah (Praise be to God) Praise be to God; whose compassion is all-embracing and whose mercy is universal; Who rewards His servants for their remembrance dhikr (devotion) of Him. So what is “praise”? What does it mean? According to Webster’s dictionary to praise means “To express a favorable judgment of someone or something.” “To glorify, especially by the attribution of perfections.” “To say or write good things about (someone or something).” “To express approval of (someone or something).” “To express thanks to or love and respect for (God).” Synonyms of Praise: Exalt, Extol, Glorify, Magnify So we understand the meaning of this word but do we really understand the amount of power this simple word holds?  I think we underestimate when we casually say Alhamdulillah (Praise be to God) . Do we really fathom the depth of us praising God? It is generally a matter of habit, a casual flow of words for us. The day we realize the real depth of this simple word, that’s the day...
