World Blog by humble servant.Identifying Assumptions in the HADITH/SUNNAH DEBATE

Image
Identifying Assumptions in the HADITH/SUNNAH DEBATE Too often we become embroiled in arguments over hadith and sunnah with their advocates before considering the disparate assumptions underlying our opposing viewpoints. The debate that ensues often becomes little more than a game, debate for the sake of debate, or a contest to determine the better debater rather than the truth. This complicates discussions. Perhaps while we are occupied in pointless debate, there are others who sincerely wish to know the truth but who are currently deprived of our insight because our time and energy are being consumed by people who have no interest in the truth. The assumptions that underlie the respective positions of proponents and opponents of hadith and sunnah generally revolve around what is meant by “discarding” them. The opponents of hadith and sunnah are concerned only with the question of sanctity [of upholding God’s word], their proponents, on the other hand, are concerned with the prescripti...

World Blog by humble servant.Idolatry and the Trinity

Image
Idolatry and the Trinity The Trinity is a false doctrine or belief, it leads to the road of idolatry and eventually Hell if believed until death. The Trinity causes idol worship, as God is One not a combination of three. The Quran, the proven Testament, states the following in verses 4:171-173: [4:171] O people of the scripture, do not transgress the limits of your religion, and do not say about GOD except the truth. The Messiah, Jesus, the son of Mary, was a messenger of GOD, and His word that He had sent to Mary, and a revelation from Him. Therefore, you shall believe in GOD and His messengers. You shall not say, “Trinity.” You shall refrain from this for your own good. GOD is only one god. Be He glorified; He is much too glorious to have a son. To Him belongs everything in the heavens and everything on earth. GOD suffices as Lord and Master. [4:172] The Messiah would never disdain from being a servant of GOD, nor would the closest angels. Those who disdain from worshiping Him, and a...

World Blog by humble servant.Education in “Muslim” Countries Asking questions is discouraged

Image
I have noticed several things regarding the attitudes in education as well as general attitudes in life. The Muslim countries of the world are at the bottom of the list when it comes to education and development. Many people have tried to blame the west for the backward Muslim attitude. However, this problem is not an external problem, but an internal one. There are other countries in the world, which are poorer than some Muslim countries, but when it comes to education they are far ahead of Muslim nations. India is one example. They were also under colonial rule like Pakistan and are among the poorest countries in the world. However, their education system is better than any Muslim country in the world. They produce more world class scientists and researchers than all the Muslims countries combined . If you go to any major university in the world, you are bound to find Indian professors in the faculty. What is their secret? This question had been on my mind several years ago and I did...

World Blog by humble servant.Mistakes of the Messengers

Mistakes of the Messengers  [14:11]  Their messengers said to them, "We are no more than humans like you... God gives us numerous examples in the Quran of mistakes made by the messengers—none are mistakes in the message they delivered, but rather in their personal actions. In fact more than half of the messengers who are discussed at any length in the Quran have at least one mistake recorded there. Adam directly disobeyed God by eating from the forbidden tree: We said, “O Adam, live with your wife in Paradise, and eat therefrom generously, as you please, but do not approach this tree, lest you sin.”  But the devil duped them, and caused their eviction.… (2:35-36) Noah questioned God when his son was drowned in the flood: Noah implored his Lord: “My Lord, my son is a member of my family, and Your promise is the truth. You are the wisest of the wise.”  He said, “O Noah, he is not of your family. It is unrighteous to ask Me for something you do not know. I enlighten you...

World Blog by humble servant.Idol Worship, the Unforgivable Sin (if maintained until death).Part 2

Image
Idol Worship, the Unforgivable Sin (if maintained until death) What is the meaning of idol worship? A simple definition of idol worship is to believe that anything beside God can help us, or to hold something as more important to us than God. Thus if we hold our property (for example) as more important than God, or give our jobs more time and attention than God—we are committing idol worship. Unfortunately, the majority of people who believe in God commit this gross offense without even realizing it. If you ask them, "Who is your god?", they will be outraged to hear this question. "What do you mean, `Who is your god?' they will ask, `My god is the Creator of the heavens and the earth.' " And most of these people will be shocked to find out that their proclamation that their god is the Creator of the heavens and the earth is no more than lip service, and that they are in fact destined for Hell (12:106). Idol worship is a gross injustice, the violation of the ...
